Basic Obedience Training

Basic Obedience Training will help you build a strong relationship with your dog and give you tools to address the training issues you have with your dog.

 Training is formatted around passing the Basic Canine Good Citizen Test.

 

Advanced Obedience

Advanced Obedience Training will help you continue to build a strong relationship with your dog and give you tools to really dive into helping your dog become well behaved and very well trained

This class is formatted around having the skills to pass the Canine Good Citizen Advanced test.

 

 

E-Collar Training

E-Collar Training is a great tool to teach your pup how to be off leash while being obedient and always aware of you and your commands.

Teach your dog to be a super star off leash with or without distractions.

No more worrying about your dog taking off after distractions.  

 

Ala Carte - One Lesson at a Time

You have an issue that you think can be taken care of easily with a little help, and you just need a little time with a dog  trainer.  This is the perfect solution for you.

$40 per session

Canine Good Citizen Test

Your dog is already trained, and you need the test only.

Frequently Asked Questions

What training methods do you use?
We use a combination of positive reinforcement and correction techniques to achieve balanced training results.

How long are the training sessions?

Lesson one is an evaluation with training, so it lasts about one hour. Training sessions from then on are typically 30 - 45 minutes long.

Do you offer group classes or private sessions?

We offer both group classes and private lessons to cater to the individual needs and preferences of our clients.

Currently, we do not have any group classes scheduled.  Please email if you interested and we will schedule accordinlgly.

Do I have to do the Canine Good Citizen Test?

No, you do not have to take the Canine Good Citizen Test. The classes are structured around the CGC because it is an excellent training format that includes basic obedience while addressing problem issues.  Some people want to take the test, and others want to do the training.  It is entirely up to you.

What if i just need help with one specific issue and do not need Basic Obedience?

Many problems disappear once you start obedience training with your dog.  It is amazing how, once you begin to change the dynamic between you and your dog through training, your dog's behavior begins to change.  That said, if you only want to address the specific problem issue, you can do one training session.  We will do the best we can to help you get the situation under control in that one session.

Will I be expected to train on my own? If so, how often?

Yes, after each training session, you will have an assignment to work on for the following week.   We recommend 10 - 15 minutes once or twice a day.  The time will depend on your dog's age and how much training works for your dog.  This type of training makes your dog think and wears them out quickly.  We always want to end on a good note, so most dogs do well with about 15 minutes.  You will learn to read your dog and know when to stop training.
